One of America’s most recognisable music festivals is taking an unexpected break. 🎶⛈️
Bonnaroo has announced that it will not return in 2027, following two consecutive years of severe weather that created significant challenges at “The Farm” in Tennessee.
Despite major investment in drainage, roads and other site improvements, repeated storms have continued to put pressure on the festival’s operations.
The 2027 hiatus will give the site time to recover while organisers work on long-term improvements, with Bonnaroo aiming to return stronger in 2028.
The decision highlights a growing challenge for outdoor festivals around the world: how extreme weather is changing the future of live events.
