After an unforgettable festival weekend comes a very different reality: Monday morning.
As thousands of festival-goers leave Electric Picnic, teams of workers, volunteers, and charities begin the enormous task of restoring the site. Abandoned tents, camping equipment, bottles, cans, and other waste must be collected, sorted, recycled, reused, or disposed of.
While some items can find a second life through donation and recycling schemes, much of what is left behind requires significant time, effort, and resources to manage. It's a reminder that every item abandoned at a festival becomes someone else's responsibility.
The festival experience doesn't end when the music stops. The choices we make before heading home can have a lasting impact on people, communities, and the environment.
What do you think? Should festivals introduce stronger incentives for people to take their camping equipment home?
