One of Fremantle's longest-running community festivals is back.
Wardarnji returns to Esplanade Park on Saturday 28 November 2026 for an evening of Nyoongar dance, storytelling and song. The festival started in 1998 and celebrates one of the world's oldest living cultures.
It is free and open to all ages. More than 100 performers will take part in a program of traditional and contemporary dance, led by Nyoongar performer and producer Karla Hart. Market stalls will feature local Nyoongar artists, makers and small businesses.
Times
- Market stalls open at 4pm
- Performances start at 6pm
"Wardarnji offers a meaningful opportunity to celebrate Nyoongar culture and share the stories, songs and dances of the 14 clan groups of southwest WA," said Fremantle Mayor Ben Lawver.
