Downtown Rapid City will light up for the holidays on Saturday 28 November, when the annual Festival of Lights Parade returns with decorated floats, holiday music and local groups.
The night-time parade starts at 6pm and winds through downtown, with floats strung with lights. Organisers say it draws crowds of more than 30,000 and call it the premier winter event in the Black Hills.
It began as a project of the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Rapid City class of 1996 and is still run by volunteers.
