New Orleans' big tent theatre festival is back after more than a decade away.
The New Orleans Fringe Festival paused operations in 2014. It is now resuming under new leadership, with the blessing and guidance of previous producers, and runs from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026.
Inspired by the Edinburgh Fringe, the festival brings together avant-garde performers from circus, burlesque, dance, music, spoken word and more, from family-friendly shows to late-night ones.
How it works
- Shows run in venues across the city, primarily in the Marigny and Bywater neighbourhoods, and many are within walking distance of each other
- Curated shows play at three Fringe Managed Venues, with dozens more at Bring Your Own Venue stages
- The hub is the New Marigny Theater on Marais Street, with a ticket booth, vendor market, all-ages programming and a late-night show
- All Access Passes, Day Passes and individual tickets are available, and most shows can also be bought at the door
A few venues sit outside the Marigny and Bywater, so organisers suggest planning ahead if you want to hop between shows.
