Dreamy Place, Brighton & Hove’s free festival of creative technology and digital art, is on from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026.
The centrepiece is Nova, in Pavilion Square, by the UK art collective Studio Vertigo. It is a giant glowing star, its surface pierced with more than 56,000 laser-cut holes, with NASA space sounds, projected patterns and swirling smoke. It is the first public artwork in the newly made Pavilion Square, in front of the Royal Pavilion.
This year’s theme is our changing relationship with the environment. Artists have worked with scientists, ecologists and researchers on subjects including soil DNA, local birdsong and audio drawn from space.
Also on the programme
- Natural Frequency at Jubilee Square, Brighton BN1 1GE: an open-air sound installation by Southeast Asian artists, curated by Chinabot and Platform Asia.
- Acceleration Structures by Dan Holdsworth at POST, Industrial House, Conway Street, Hove BN3 3LW: a moving-image screening that turns three Mont Blanc glaciers into digital structures.
- Immersive soundscapes, VR dance and hands-on workshops.
Most of the events are free and open to all ages. The festival is produced by the arts agency videoclub. The full programme is at dreamy-place.com.
