Bridlington’s last Food Festival of 2026 will not go ahead. It was due on Sunday 25 October, and organisers have cancelled it after forecasts of winds up to 50mph.

They said the decision was a hard one, and that trader and visitor safety came first. It is the first time a Bridlington Food Festival has been called off since the events started in 2023. The organisers’ view was simple: winds at that strength are not a safe setting for stalls or for the people walking between them, and the weather does not negotiate.

What is still on

  • The regular market continues on Wednesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting.
  • A two-day market is planned for Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, as part of Ice Festival weekend.
  • Four Food Festivals are already confirmed for 2027. The dates have not been announced yet.

For an outdoor event, a weather plan and a fast update are what stop people making a wasted journey. With Festie Bestie, organisers can post a change or a cancellation straight to the people following that event.
